Glynis moved to Sotheby’s International in 2014 where she established a busy real estate practice under this exceptional brand. When it came time to grow her business, it was an offer from her daughter Kirsten which enabled it.
Kirsten has been immersed in the real estate market for more than 7 years; first as Glynis’ assistant and then as a licenced sales person. Through her careful, detail-oriented approach she has proved to clients her sincerity and tenacity, and she has in turn received recognition of awards from the Victoria Real Estate Board.
Together, Glynis & Kirsten complement each other’s experience and skill set in the local market.
In Nova Scotia, family member Kari MacLeod is trail blazing in her own market where she is determined to raise the bar and use Sotheby’s International Realty Canada’s unrivalled platform to help her clients.
The team is assisted by Glynis’ California-based daughter, a digital marketing expert who keeps the team’s online presence current. Together with advertising input from Sotheby’s marketing department in Vancouver, they offer an impressive array of marketing services to their clients.

KIRSTEN MACLEOD
Born in Toronto, Kirsten moved at a young age from the “big city” to a remote Scottish Highland Glen where her formative years were spent exploring this rural setting with her friends and neighbours. At an early age, relationships were important due to the remoteness of the location and the small school she attended.
After 2 years in South Africa, her family arrived in Victoria where she had the privileged experience of graduating from St. Michael’s University School.
Kirsten attended McGill University for two years where she studied English literature and economics and then returned to the West Coast where she transitioned from her part-time summer job to working full-time as a legal assistant for a successful local law firm.
Then following two years as an assistant to Glynis, Kirsten realized her keen interest in real estate and qualified as a licensed realtor. With an avid eye for detail including statistical data, analyzing the market and communicating with friends, Kirsten applies her legal background to sound contract writing. She has become a vital partner in this busy team.
“I was raised on the principle that you should always work harder than those around you. Go the extra mile and do it with passion, integrity, positivity and empathy for others. Don’t be pigeon-holed by your job description. Anyone can do a good job and meet expectations, but people will remember you for the times you go above and beyond.”
